The RRWCD utilizes various programs to provide monetary incentives for voluntarily retiring wells to decrease consumptive use. The Environment Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) is a federal program through the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS). The Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) is a federal program with the Farm Service Agency (FSA). Both programs provide federal dollars to help meet program objectives. The Lease Program - 2006 was funded entirely by RRWCD and was only a one-year program.
